You barely had entered the stand of stately pecan trees when you heard a bit of a commotion off to one side. As you thread your way through the trees, first you heard some animated discussion, then someone shout "Here comes the photographer!" As you step out from the trees into a small clearing, you see the tableau of characters all ready for a photo.
Hastily, you explain you are not the photographer they were expecting. Nonetheless you do have a camera. So, you go ahead and take a picture, anyway.
A woman in a brown tunic seems to sense your befuddlement. She lowers her bow and arrow after the photo has been taken and steps forward to speak to you. The others begin to mill about discussing something very vigorously.
"We are playing Magestry, which a live action role playing game or LARP, for short," she advises. "Actually, we all are teachers who are working to learn how to use game-based learning. We once were adventurers, just like you appear to be."
So, these people had a problem to solve, and they did it. A pamphlet is on the ground within easy reach. "Gamification of Problem Solving." From Kapp, pages 161-164, Kindle location 4071 - 4140. Up to 5 XPs.
She turned back to her game. You pick up a few pecans, then sit and settle back against a tree trunk to watch the LARP and read your pages...
